I need help understanding the meaning and value of outplacement


Outplacement is the structured process of helping individuals in transition to evaluate their career opportunities, implement a job search and manage the transition to new employment. The outplacement process provides a methodology, personalised counselling and support and tools specifically designed to make the job search faster and more productive.

 

Some of the Benefits of Outplacement for Individuals include:  

  • Allowing the individual to deal with negative emotions, talk candidly about his/her situation and receive the benefit of an objective sounding board.
  • Gaining an indepth understanding of one’s professional and personal competencies.
  • Crystallising present and future career goals.
  • Providing ongoing guidance, support, objectivity and motivation to carry out a structured and productive job search campaign.
